The Rosh Chodesh Circle is a monthly meeting set around the new moon; designed to bring women together and connect their spiritual being through various types of Jewish programming.
Each month will present a new activity; chosen as a vehicle for learning about women's traditions and practices that highlight the connection between our spiritual life and our lives as Jews. By having the circle, we also honor the traditions and wisdom of Jewish women who have come before us.
As we go along, the group, together, will decide on the different programs to include. Each month a member (or members) of the Circle will take responsibility for developing and facilitating a particular program.
Each Rosh Chodesh Circle will follow a basic format, including:
Opening Ritual
Silent meditation
Program for the month
Closing Ritual
We will meet alternately in each others' homes, which should create an intimate and fun atmosphere. The host that month will provide very light healthy refreshments and drinks.
Participation will be open to women - both members and non-members of Kol HaNeshamah - who are looking for the type of spiritual experience that this particular Rosh Chodesh Circle is designed to create.
Rosh Chodesh is sponsored and publicized by Congregation KH, but run by the members of the group.
Because it will be held in the homes of both members and non-members of Kol HaNeshama, this should be a community wide experience.
